8+ years building websites, 40+ sites launched. We do the work on every project ourselves, from the first call to launch.
Most UK web design pages answer “how much does a website cost” with a range too wide to use and a request to book a call. This page publishes our own UK price list in pounds, says what each bracket includes, gives tradespeople a straight figure, and shows what we found when we tested the websites of the agencies that would quote you.
How much does a website cost in the UK in 2026?
Our published UK prices start at £539 for a site of up to three pages, £1,299 for up to five, £2,649 for up to twelve, and £5,349 for a flagship build. An online shop starts at £1,549. The number of pages and what they have to do moves the price, not your postcode.
What does each price bracket include?
The brackets differ by how many pages have a real job and what sits underneath them. Three pages say who you are and how to reach you. Five add the services a customer compares. Twelve carry a blog or case studies you edit yourself, and the flagship build connects to the other systems you run.
| Tier | From | Scope | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | £539 | Designer-tuned template | A polished, single-purpose site to plant your flag online — fast and affordably. |
| Launch | £1,299 | Custom responsive design | A sharp, fast site to get you online and converting. |
| Growth | £2,649 | Custom responsive design | The sweet spot — a bigger site built to scale with you. |
| Signature | £5,349 | Custom responsive design | A one-off flagship build with everything turned on. |
Every tier is on the pricing page, line by line. The figure you are quoted is fixed in writing before any work starts, and after a refundable booking you see a basic build with its design direction inside 48 hours. If the direction is wrong, the booking is refunded in full; then it is 50% on approval and 50% at go-live.
How much does a website for a plumber or builder cost in the UK?
For most trades, £1,299. That is the five-page bracket: a home page, your services, the areas you cover, your reviews and past jobs, and a contact page with a quote form and a phone number a customer can tap. A sole trader who only needs to be found and called can start on the three-page bracket at £539.
What wins a trade job is rarely the design. It is whether the site shows up when someone nearby searches for the job, opens quickly on a phone, and makes ringing you the obvious next step. Setting up your Google Business Profile properly is a one-off £209; keeping you in the map pack month after month is £159 a month.
More on this in websites for trades and home services. If you still price jobs on paper, the free plumbing estimate template and construction estimate template print a clean quote without a spreadsheet.
How much does an online shop cost in the UK?
A shop has two costs, not one. The build is ours: £1,549 for up to 50 products, or £3,749 for up to 500 with abandoned-cart recovery and email flows. The platform’s monthly plan is billed by Shopify, at the price on Shopify’s own pricing page.
| Tier | From | Scope | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Store Launch | £1,549 | Shopify / WooCommerce setup | A clean, trustworthy store ready to take its first orders. |
| Store Growth | £3,749 | Up to 500 products | A conversion-tuned store built to sell while you sleep. |
How good are UK web design agencies’ own websites?
In September 2026 we ran the homepages of 42 web design and SEO agencies that appear in London and Manchester search results through the same nine checks as our free audit. 4 passed all nine: 3 of 23 in London and 1 of 19 in Manchester. The median agency passed 6 of 9 in both cities.
The misses were the basics a buyer never sees. 27 of the 42 (64%) fell short on security headers such as HSTS, 23 (55%) on technical SEO basics such as titles, descriptions and alt text, and 9 (21%) on structured data. Before you hire anyone, check their own site: the free nine-point audit runs the same checks on any address.
What does a website cost every month after launch?
After launch you pay for hosting, the domain renewal, and someone to keep the site updated and fixed. Our UK care plans start at £69 a month, with £159 a month for a site that keeps changing. A Shopify shop also pays Shopify’s plan, and any paid apps, directly to Shopify.
Why do UK website quotes vary so much?
Because two quotes are rarely for the same thing. Before you compare them, check four things in each: how many pages have a job, who writes the words, whether hosting and a year of fixes are included, and whether there is a live date in writing. Seven questions to ask before hiring a web designer goes further, and a second opinion on a quote you already have is free.
How do I get an exact price for my website?
Tell us the one thing your current site is not doing. You get a reply inside one business day, and, after a refundable booking, a basic build with its design direction inside 48 hours. Wrong direction? The booking comes back in full. Then 50% on approval, 50% at go-live. We work with UK businesses by video call and WhatsApp, and every message gets a reply inside one business day.
Ask for your fixed price, or run the free audit on the site you have now.
