Free website audit: type an address, watch it print

Type an address and the receipt fills in line by line — speed, mobile, the tags, the markup, the trust signals, and whether ChatGPT is even allowed to read you. One address, one fetch, six printouts, and a page you keep at its own web address.

It is free, there is nothing to sign up for, and we do not want your email address. The site you enter is fetched once, the way any visitor would fetch it.

  1. Waiting for an address

The console · six instruments, one pass

What does the free website audit check?

Every one of these reads the same single request. That is why the whole console takes about ten seconds and costs the site being checked exactly one page load.

01

Nine-Point Audit

Is my website any good?

The nine checks we run on any site before we quote on it. Speed, mobile, clarity, the way out, the tags, the markup, the trust signals, the measurement and the security — each one passed, partly or failed against a line that is printed beside it.

Prints Nine rows and a tally.

02

Search Result Preview

What does my page look like in Google?

Your title and description measured the way a result is measured — in pixels, not characters — and drawn at the width Google actually gives them, so you can see where the sentence gets cut off before it happens to you.

Prints A drawn result, and where it truncates.

03

Schema Inspector

Why is my business not in the map pack?

Every JSON-LD block on the page, the types it declares, and any block that is broken and being silently ignored. Then the LocalBusiness block you are missing, written out ready to paste.

Prints The types found, and the markup you are missing.

04

AI Search Readiness

Can ChatGPT read my website?

Whether your robots file lets each AI crawler in by name — GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, OAI-SearchBot, Google-Extended, CCBot — and whether what they would find is answerable text or an empty page waiting for JavaScript.

Prints Six crawlers, allowed or refused.

05

Local & NAP

Does my site look like a real local business?

Name, address, phone, hours and service area — the five a stranger checks before they check what you charge, and the five a map listing is matched against.

Prints Five signals, found or missing.

06

Weight & Speed

Why is my website slow?

How long the server took to answer, how big the document is, and the weight of every file the page then asks for — with the heaviest named, because it is almost always three of them.

Prints The readings, and the heaviest files by name.

The bench book

Where does each website audit check draw the line?

Every threshold the nine-point instrument judges against, written down. Nothing here is a weighting or a secret score — if you think a line is in the wrong place you can say so, which is more than a number out of a hundred lets you do.

The pass, partly and fail threshold for each of the nine checks
Check Passes when Partly when Fails when
1Speed on a real phone Answers inside 1,500 ms and under 2,200 KB of assets. Slower than 1,500 ms, or heavier than 2,200 KB. Slower than 2,500 ms, or heavier than 4,000 KB.
2Mobile experience Viewport declared, zoom free, images offer a smaller file. Zoom locked, no responsive images, or everything loaded at once. No viewport tag at all.
3The five-second clarity test One headline of three words or more, over a page with something on it. A headline under three words, or under 120 words on the page. No headline element. Structurally, nothing says what this is.
4One clear primary action One to three ways out, at least one of them a phone link or a form. Neither a phone link nor a form, or more than three competing ways out. No way to make contact anywhere on the page.
5Technical SEO basics All six present and inside their limits. One or two of the six missing or out of range. Three or more missing. Google is writing your advert for you.
6Structured data A business type present and every block valid. Data present, but no business type, or a block that does not parse. None. No address, no hours, no service area.
7Trust signals Three or four of the four on the page. Two of the four. One or none. A stranger cannot tell anybody is behind it.
8Analytics and tracking At least one of them present. — Nothing measures anything. Every marketing decision is a guess.
9Security and maintenance Secure, no insecure assets, headers in place, no version on display. Two or more of the smaller faults. Not served over HTTPS, or loading insecure assets.

Two brackets, empty

What can the audit machine not read?

Said here rather than discovered later. A tool that hides its limits is worth less than one that names them.

Largest Contentful Paint, and layout shift
Both are readings a browser takes while it paints. A server can measure how fast a page is sent, not how fast it appears — so these two brackets stay empty instead of holding an invented number.
Whether the writing is any good
It can tell you there is a headline. It cannot tell you the headline is vague.
Whether the design works
No machine reads a page the way a customer does.
Anything past the first page
One address, one load. A site is more than its home page.
Whether an answer engine actually names you
Instrument 04 checks whether ChatGPT is allowed to read this site. Being allowed in is not the same as being recommended, and no reading of your own pages can tell you which you are. The mirror asks it and reads the answer — the same five questions your customers type, free, in about five minutes.

The first four are what a person adds. Have us run it by hand — a reply comes within one business day. You can see one done in full at the teardown, the method is written up in the nine-point audit, and the other machine on this bench is the AI visibility check.
