Answer five questions

Count the pages you need to launch, not the pages you might want in two years. Most small businesses need fewer than they think: a home page, a page per service, an about page and a contact page will carry a great deal of work.

A designer-tuned template is a real template made to look like you — it is fast and it is not a compromise for a small site. A fully custom design means the layout is drawn from your content rather than your content poured into a layout, and that difference shows most on a bigger site.

A self-edit content management setup is not free: fields have to be built, guarded and documented so that a Tuesday afternoon text change cannot break a layout. It is worth it if you publish often and a waste if you will call us twice a year.

Real checkout means inventory, tax, shipping rules, refunds and the testing that goes with all four. A booking form or a quote request is not e-commerce and should not be priced like it.

Motion is the part most quotes hide. Considered animation is design work and takes design time; it is also the difference between a site that feels built and a site that feels assembled. It is optional, and it is priced honestly here rather than folded into a vague line item.

The price list

What are the four INR brackets this tool uses?

These are the same figures as the published price list, read from the same file that renders it. A fixed price is confirmed in writing before any work begins.

The row your answers land in is marked as you change them.

How much does a website cost in India?

Our India prices are ₹18,000 for a site of up to three pages, ₹30,000 for up to five, ₹50,000 for up to twelve, and ₹95,000 for a flagship build. The calculator above scores your five answers and picks one of those four. The prices are read from the same file as our India price list, so the tool and the price list cannot disagree.

The same brief is priced the same whether you are in Mumbai, Jaipur or Panchkula. What moves the price is how many pages have a real job, whether the design is custom, whether you edit the site yourself, and whether it takes payments.

Why do website quotes in India vary so much?

Two quotes for "a website" are often two different things. A low quote is usually a template with your logo on it, no written content and no plan for what happens after launch. A high one may include copywriting, photography, SEO setup and a year of care. Ask every studio the same three questions: how many pages, who writes the words, and what happens when something breaks in month four.

Ask whether the quote includes GST. Web development services billed in India carry GST, and a quote that leaves it out cannot be compared with one that includes it.

Shopify, WordPress or custom: which costs less in India?

WordPress has no platform fee, but you pay for hosting and for updates. Shopify charges a monthly plan in rupees, but hosting, security and checkout are included. A custom build costs more up front and suits sites that need something neither platform does well. For a shop, Shopify is often the cheaper total over two years; for a service business, WordPress or a lean custom site usually is.

Payment gateways such as Razorpay, PayU or Cashfree charge per transaction, not per month. That cost sits on top of any platform, so it does not change which one is cheaper.

What costs come after the website is built?

A domain (renewed yearly), hosting or a Shopify plan (monthly), a business email if you want one on your own domain, and maintenance: updates, backups and small changes. We quote care plans separately, in rupees, on the price list. Advertising is separate again. Budget for the year, not just the build.
